There is not a more wonderful time to live in an agricultural state than Fall! Please join the Des Moines Raw Food Group to reconnect after our Summer break. As we celebrate the bounty of Fall and the harvest season, we will be talking about dehydrating foods – and learning about to hang on to the lush produce we have now for just a little while longer.
Come on Monday, September 8 to:
* Watch an instructional demo by a certified raw food chef
* Taste delicious, natural goodies and share recipes
* Hear how other people are adding more vibrant raw foods into their diets.
BRING: $5 if you bring a vegan raw dish to share, and $15 if you do not. Bring an appetizer, salad, fresh juice, desert or main dish...anything as long as it is vegan, raw and preferably organic! (Check out the web for recipes, our ask Teri at East Village Books to recommend a resource. Teri belongs to our group!)
Additionally, please consider bringing your own plate/fork. In an effort to be "greener," only a limited number of disposable plates/forks will be available: the earth thanks you!
When: 6:00 p.m. Monday, September 8, 2008
Where: East Village Books, 510 East Locust Street
And finally, as always, if you RSVP yes, but your plans subsequently change, we ask you to change your RSVP on this site. Our past meetings have been full, and we have had awaiting list. Please be thoughtful if you can't come and let us know so someone else can take your spot! |

Are you curious about this "raw food lifestyle" you keep hearing about?! Come to the East Village Books Raw Food Meetup hosted by Raw Food chef Sheree Clark to have fun, share raw food meals, and discuss diet and health issues. We'll have speakers, see life food prep demos and learn a lot. Anyone interested in the raw/live food diet and lifestyle is welcome! Our purpose is to provide support, share knowledge and eat things that make us feel great. It doesn't matter if youare 100% raw vegan or just want to learn more, all are welcome! |
